The first place winner will receive a $200 gift certificate from Pacific Whale Foundation. The second and third place winners will receive gift certificates for $150 and $100, respectively. Three honorable mention entries will also be selected, and each will receive $50 gift certificates. The deadline for entry is July 31, 2010. Winners will be announced by November 1, 2010. Winners in each category will be contacted directly to notify them that their photos have been selected.
The winning photos, along with the photographers’ names and home towns, will be featured on Pacific Whale Foundation’s website, www.pacificwhale.org, as well as in a press release to go out to the local media and to Pacific Whale Foundation’s thousands of supporters and members worldwide.
To submit your photo, please email it to photocontest@pacificwhale.org. Be sure to title the photo and include your name, address, city, state or country, postal code and phone number with your submission, as well as the date (and, if possible, the Pacific Whale Foundation vessel) on which the photo was taken. Please also include a brief description of the encounter photographed.
